Q: Where do you come from?
A: Hong Kong.
Q: When did you go on your working holiday?
A: I went after I graduated from university in 2013. I stayed there for exactly one year and came back to Hong Kong in Aug 2014.
Q: Where did you go for your working holiday and why?
A: I went to Australia for my working holiday. I chose this country because I wanted to go somewhere out of Asia. Also, Australia was the only country that has no visa quota.
Q: What kinds of jobs did you do, and what kinds of courses did you take during your working holiday?
A: I did not take any courses during my working holiday. I tried different jobs, such as babysitter, leaflet distributor, hotel room attendant, hostel receptionist etc. My favourite jobs were room attendant and receptionist. Being a room attendant was not easy at the beginning, but after gaining experience, it is extremely easy to get a similar job. It was also interesting as it allowed me to know more behind-the-scene duties.
Q: Tell us one of your most unforgettable memories in your working holiday.
A: Towards the end of my working holiday, I went to New Zealand for 20 days with some other backpackers. It was a truly unforgettable memory. Nothing is better than earning money, making new friends and having fun!
Q: What is the greatest reward you have got from your working holiday?
A: Experience. You can never gain that type of experience in Hong Kong.
Q: Can you give 3 tips for young people who wish to visit the working holiday destination of your choice?
A:

- Have fun
- Be clear of what you are doing and what you want to achieve. There are many ways of obtaining easy money, and they can be very tempting. Just always bear in mind the reason you left home in the first place and why you wanted to set out on this adventure.
